tubegggggg

into the black

Saturday, rock and roll once again. Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Rush Never Sleeps" album is playing on my turn table at ten o' clock. I can't help but tap my finger while my right leg imitates Ralph Molina's deepest bass notes. This is my music and boy, was it good to hear it again. My mind's into trance again and inside me, I feel the energy, the natural high. Flashbacks of Billy Talbot playing his bass are as clear as day one and no notes were missed. This is the Saturday I always looked for and, if time permits, I want to do this every morning. Because if not for my collections of favorite albums, then consider me gone. Right, Sting?.

chaos

The politicians are now DJ's

It's fiesta time once again, or as some call it, carnival time (read: election season.) Everybody's talking politics, from the five-star Jollibee branch up to the dim-lighted barber shop inside the Bilibid prison. Everyone has his own choice of candidate, from the trapos to the newbies. All are shouting on top of their voices, claiming that they (the candidates) can alleviate the poverty in my beloved country. Now the ordinary people are starting to believe in them again, and this means VOTE. But how many of our genius politicians had fulfilled their promises? If we are to believe the nasty reports, millions (if not billions) of the people's money had been lost to these geniuses, and the promise of a good life is still not accomplished. Hope this time, their promises are for real. I will also promise that I will not point my middle finger on my boob tube whenever I see their (the candidates) paid political advertisements. Promise!!!

valentine mistress

Today is Valentine's Day, and to us hotblooded and happy-go-lucky creatures of the earth, this is the day to paint the town red. After all, this is one of the most celebrated events in the country after Christmas and New Year. Businesses today are in full bloom, and prices of Valentine accessories are going up every minute. But I'm just wondering why the fire department is also on full alert during Valentine's Day? Ah, for us hotblooded and happy go lucky creatures of the earth, Valentine's means...SEX SEX SEX!!!.

all dressed up with nowhere to go

It's Friday again, and we expect the night owls and party people to flock to their favorite places.  This is a weekly tradition, especially to the young and not so young ones. It's a must to recharge those tired bones. But, it seems that only a few of the party people are flocking to their favorite hang outs these days. Blame it on the computers and Internet. Some night owls today choose to stay in the comfort of their rooms and instead "facebook" and "twitter" the night away. Much cheaper and safer than to stay outside with all those street thugs on the prowl for hapless victims.

music dont stop

Ito ang mga paborito kong patugtugin kapag nasa opis ako:

Dogs (Waters, Gilmour) 17:06

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need.
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street,
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed.
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight,
You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.

And after a while, you can work on points for style.
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder.
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you
get older.
And in the end you'll pack up and fly down south,
Hide your head in the sand,
Just another sad old man,
All alone and dying of cancer.

And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown.
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone.
And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw
around.
So have a good drown, as you go down, all alone,
Dragged down by the stone.

I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused.
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used.
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise.
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this
maze?

Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friend.
And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everything's done under the sun,
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.

Who was born in a house full of pain.
Who was trained not to spit in the fan.
Who was told what to do by the man.
Who was broken by trained personnel.
Who was fitted with collar and chain.
Who was given a pat on the back.
Who was breaking away from the pack.
Who was only a stranger at home.
Who was ground down in the end.
Who was found dead on the phone.
Who was dragged down by the stone.

Positively 4th Street by Bob Dylan

You've got a lot of nerve
To say you are my friend.
When I was down you just stood there grinning.

You've got a lot of nerve
To say you've got a helping hand to lend.
You just want to be on the side that's winning.

You say I let you down,
You know it's not like that.
If you're so hurt, why then don't you show it?

You say you've lost your faith,
But that's not where it's at.
You have no faith to lose, and you know it.

I know the reason that
You talk behind my back.
I used to be among the crowd you're in with.

Do you take me for such a fool
To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide what he don't know to begin with?

You see me on the street.
You always act surprised.
You say, how are you, good luck, but you don't mean it.
When you know as well as me,
You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once and scream it!

Now don't I feel that good
When I see the heartaches you embrace
If I were a master thief perhaps I'd rob them.

And though I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place,
Don't you understand, it's not my problem.

I wish that for just one time,
You could stand inside my shoes,
And just for that one moment I could be you.
Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes,
You'd know what a drag it is to see you.

stone free

It's been nice to see old friends, especially your college buddies. These past two days, we happened to reconnect (pun intended) again. Fred G (monsignor to us) is on vacation from Italy, while Joey M, who's now based in Hongkong, is on a six (not sex) day rest. Another good friend, Lito Santana (guitarist par excellence), who is everywhere, is also in town. Our only girlfriend, Heidi (Tondo lass-kaya be careful), is the host of this reunion. During our college days, we usually hied off to Heidi's place after class to cook, or shall I say, prepare lumpiang sariwa. This is our fave food back then, along with some pica pica as pulutan. No, she doesn't drink or smoke; it so happens that her place was the most convenient to us to while away the time.

Funny how time flies, now two of our friends are now grandpas at a very young age. Yes, their daughters got married early, and their usual alibi is it's in the family tradition. Now our conversation is mostly on how to stay young and strong. The early stages of common causes of deaths and how to open a new business. Ha ha ha!!! Where are those rock and roll topics then, my fave haruta shoes, Heidi's Ly Na kit, Joey on his air guitar imitating Keith Richard, Fred who thinks he is Heber's twin brother, and of course, Lito doing some honest to goodness guitar riffs inside the unfinished chapel in their place with a half bottle of ice cold beer as his slide.

Lots of fun. And before we bade goodbye to each other, we promised ourselves that we will have another reunion, wheel chair or no wheel chair.

For (S)He's A Jolly Good Fellow

I'm eighteen and I don't know what I want

I woke up early because on this day I will paint the town red, or was it yellow, blue or black? Oh colors don't mind. I'm not on a vacation today, I'm on an ERRAND (yes CAPS all mine), with a strict order not to tell anyone. Huwattt? is this some kind of a special ops mission, that if somebody finds out about my mission today, he/she will just disappear? Oh damn, like on those tv shows, I'm beginning to speak like a true blue navy seal. Anyway, because my schedule today is purely outdoors, I will bring my camera with me, and if luck is on my side, shoot one of my best shots today. Secret errand? you suck.
